Kenya lost to Canada in their first pool B match in the Hong Kong series on Friday at the Hong Kong Stadium.
Canada had the first try through Luke McCloskey which was then converted by Nathan Hirayama to go 7-0 up in the first half.
Kenya came back stronger in the second half and made their first try through Dennis Ombachi and Samuel Oliech converted it to go level with Canada. Canada got their second try through Harry Jones and it was converted to give them a 14-7 lead, but Nelson Oyoo’s try shortly after made it level on 14-14.
Kenya conceded a penalty late in the game which was hurriedly scored by Nathan Hirayama which gave Canada all the points, winning 17-14 to pick up their first win in the Hong Kong series.
