SOFAPAKA striker, Paul Odhiambo, has told Kenyanstar how working with legendary goal poacher, John Baraza, has helped improve his game. Odhiambo has netted three times for SOFAPAKA this season and provided two assists a performance that has seen him ranked among the best ten forwards in the league so far this season.
Speaking Exclusively to Kenyanstar in a long ranging Interview, Odhiambo noted that he was having the best season of his career and attributed this to support on and off the field.
“Yes, it makes a big change playing alongside experienced players like Charles[Okwemba]. They have been around for a long time and they will always show you the right path.”
“I have also put in some shift personally, extra personal training before the sessions begin and of course prayer and asking for God’s favor”
“But most important i would say is working with John Baraza. He believes in me a lot and that has instilled some confidence in me. He joins me in my personal trainings before the sessions begin and teaches me a lot of things.”
“When a star like Baraza comes to you and tells you that you are the best then you have no option but to prove him right and repay that confidence. He tells me all the time every day that i have pace, energy and skill and there is nothing to stop me from being the best. So i have put that into my head and i guess it plays a big part in building one’s confidence.”
Paul Odhiambo’s Full Interview will be published on Kenyanstar next week. Be sure to catch it for an eye opener on his career, his moments at AFC Leopards and Gor-Mahia and what really worked for SOFAPAKA’s second leg campaign to narrowly avoid relegation.
