Gor Mahia Striker Meddie Kagere has revealed that Sunday’s win over arch-rivals AFC Leopards was down to team work and commitment of all players in K’ogalo. Kagere scored the first goal for Gor before Blackberry Odhiambo and Timothy Otieno sealed the win for the former KPL champion, and the Rwandan was happy to get into the score sheet for the second time in as many derby matches.
“Who will not want to score? Every player wishes to have his name on the score sheet when playing in a derby. It is a special goal because it also gives us bragging rights. Everything is down to hard work and team work, that is what led to our win.”
“It is a big motivation for us, as we aim at winning the league this season. Definitely it will not be easy for us but we will give our best,” he added. Gor Mahia lie in 2nd place on the table standings and their next match is a home game against Chemelil Sugar.
