The Gotv Shield Tournament resumes this weekend, with eight teams battling for four spots in the semifinals of this year’s tournament.
At stake is a place in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup and a cash prize of Kshs 2 Million for the winners of the trophy while the runners-up will have earned themselves Kshs 1 Million. There is also a prize of Kshs 750000 for the third best team.
This year’s quarterfinals will be played at the Nyayo Stadium, with Saturday and Sunday accomodating two games each.
The first match on Saturday will see last year’s second runners up Kariobangi Sharks take on Division one side Eldoret Youth from 13:00 before paving way for the match between Bandari FC and SoNy Sugar which is expected to start at 15:15.
On Sunday, defending champions Tusker FC will be hoping to edge closer to defending the title when they face National Super League leaders Vihiga United FC from 13:00.
The last quarterfinal match will see AFC Leopards clash with another National Super League side Wazito FC from 15:15, with the winner securing a place in the semifinals.
