Kenya hopes of going to Rio Olympics are still live as the team will participate in the Women’s World Olympic Qualification Tournament scheduled to take place at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico from May 20-22.
Egypt took over Kenya 3-2 (25-22, 24-26, 16-15, 25-20, 19-17) in the semifinal of Women’s African Olympic Qualifier to qualify for the gold medal match. The match lasting 127 minutes showed extra ordinary performance from the winners but the middle blocker Mariam Metwally and opposite spiker Aya El Shami played the greatest role in the victory.
