Anthony Yeboah was one of the most successful & greatest African talent to grace continental soccer. The magnificent striker was born in Kumasi Ghana 1966. He had a stellar professional soccer over a decade in Europe & Asia to be precise.

Yeboah’s  physical attributes, pace, thunderbolt shots and  heading capabilities made him one of lethal African forwards. He commenced his soccer career at Asante Kotoko in Ghana, then headed  to Cornerstones Kumasi and later signed for Okwahu United in Ghana. It is then that FC Saarbrücken a German Bundesliga team came calling for his signature. He departed for Germany and made history as he one of the first Africans to ever play in the German professional league. At that time, most clubs in Germany had Germans as players save from two or three teams that had Europeans from Europe in their teams.

Two seasons later Eintracht Frankfurt a team in the German Bundesliga signed him from F.C Saarbrucken where  he had made over 80 appearances with the team, scoring at will since it was what he loved. Later on, English Premier League outfit Leeds United recognizing Yeboah’s talent, signed him to Elland Road. He later moved back to Germany where Hamburger SC signed him. As his sunset years on the pitch approached, he later went to Qatar and  signed for All ittihad in the Qatar league.  He won the Qatar Stars league & Emir of Qatar cup.

Yegoala as nicknamed by Ghanaian soccer lovers had his debut for Ghana in 1985. He received 29 caps for the Black Stars. He represented Ghana in the 1992 & 1996 AFCON editions. Today, Anthony Yeboah runs a sports agency in Ghana & a chain of hotels called Yegoala.
