Wazito FC have officially unveiled its new signings acquired this transfer window as the team gears up for the upcoming 2018 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season.
Wazito, who finished second in the National Super League (NSL) to earn promotion to the KPL, are in line for their very first season at top flight football.
Some of the players signed include Francis Ochola, Kenenth Wendo, George Owiti, Moses Otieno, Ibrahim Mao, Salim Akatha, Emmanuel Tienan, Marvin Onyango, and Harun Nyakha.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Wazito head coach Frank Ouna stated their readiness for the fast-approaching new season in which they will come up against the best teams in the country.
“NSL was tough but the hard work of the players and support of the fans and management made it easier. The Premier League is different and you have to change your squad. We have changed a few out of choice but unfortunately lost others. We have beefed up and now ready for the big kick off. “
On his part, CEO Luthers Mokua said, “The new signings have unique skills and talent that will help us make a statement in our KPL debut. We are in KPL as contenders and not as participants. We have put together a very tactical Technical bench coupled with talented players.”
Ouna also compared his side to title winning Leicester City, saying that they will need some kind of miracle if they are to finish in the top half of the league. The Foxes are famed for beating all odds to lift the 2015/2016 Barclays Premier League title.
