Saflands Sevens: Kenya Bites Back S.A Select To Lift Title

The Shujaa select side are this year’s Safland sevens champions following a 19-12 win over South Africa Select on Saturday evening in Namibia. The Kenyan representatives got a perfect revenge for the side which had beaten them in the group stages.

Sammy Oliech, Willy Ambaka and Sam Muregi scored for Kenya with Oliech making the conversions to lift a trophy which they lost in the finals of 2016.

To reach the cup final, Shujaa had beaten Namibia Academy 38-0 after finishing second in pool A. They had also beat Namibia 12-0, Zambia 31-0 and Bulls 49-0.

The national sevens side now turns focus to the 2017/18 HSBC World Sevens Series opener, Dubai 7s where they seek good displays.
