Okumbi Names Final KPL Allstars Squad For Spain Trip

Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi who is in charge of the select KPL side that is set to visit Spain for friendlies has named the final squad that will make the trip.

Among those dropped are  Posta Rangers goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo and Kariobangi Sharks defender Bolton Omwenga. Gor Mahia duo of Boniface Oluoch and Musa Mohammed who are currently in Tanzania with the club ahead of their match with Everton will be joining the KPL select team later.

Robinson Kamura of AFC Leopards and Sofapaka’s Wesley Onguso are the only players who have been retained from the team that played with Hull City earlier this year, with Simon Mbugua and Maurice Ojwang joining them in the defensive fold. Leopards youngster Vincent Oburu will lead the striking role assisted by Ulinzi’s Samuel Onyango and Nzoia’s Victor Omondi.

The team is scheduled to leave the country on Sunday July 16, 2017 and will play two friendlies on July 19 and July 22nd. The team will then jet back on Tuesday July 25.

Goalkeepers: Mathias Kigonya (Sofapaka), Boniface Oluoch (Gor Mahia)

Defenders: Robinson Kamura (AFC Leopards), Musa Mohamed (Gor Mahia), Wesley Onguso (Sofapaka), Simon Mbugua (Posta Rangers), Maurice Ojwang (Western Stima).

Midfielders: Benson Iregi (Thika United), Clinton Kisiavuki (Nakumatt FC), Jackson Macharia (Tusker), Victor Majid (AFC Leopards), Boniface Muchiri (Tusker), Ovella Ochieng (Kariobangi Sharks), Omotto Patillah (Kariobangi Sharks), Wendo Ernest (Gor Mahia).

Strikers: Vincent Oburu (AFC Leopards), Victor Omondi (Nzoia Sugar), Onyango Samuel (Ulinzi Stars).
