Laiser Hills defeated their arch rivals Upper Hill 51-43 in the boys’ basketball finals to clinch the National Trophy in the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association, KSSSA games.
The match was closely contested until the end but it was Laiser Hill who got one over their Nairobi rivals. Similar sentiments were shared by the Laiser Hill captain when he said, “The game was very difficult but we tried our best, our opponents Upper Hill were as good as we were but we believed in each other and played as a team and finally came on top”.
The Upper Hill coach praised his team despite the defeat and now shifts his focus on the regional games with the aim of improving their performance. He said, “I am happy with the boys, in games you win some and lose some but now we just have to focus on the East African games and look to improve our performance”.
Laiser Hill and Upper Hill will now represent Kenya in the regional games that will be held in Uganda.
