Kwanthanze, Sengera New Volleyball Champions

Kwanthanze Girls claimed the title of national volleyball champions of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association following their win over Rift Valley representatives Cheptil on Saturday July 8, 2017 in Nyeri.

The champions won by three straight sets of 25-19, 25-10 and 25-15 to reclaim the title they last won two years ago. Soweto came in third after seeing of Lugulu Girls by three sets to one.

In the boys’ category, Malava were stunned by Sengera in a hotly contested final. Malava, who are last year’s East African champions, won the first set 25-17 but Sengera surprised them with three straight set wins of   25-23, 25-22 and 25-19 to be crowned this year’s national volleyball champions. The third position went to Cheptil who won 3-0 against Kangundo.
