Kenya’s Final Squad Named

The squad to represent Kenya in this year’s CAVB Zone V World Championship qualifiers set for Kigali, Rwanda has been released. The qualifiers are slated to take place between July 22 and 27 will see 14 Kenyan participants leave the country for Rwanda on Tuesday 18 July.

The squad to represent Kenya in this year’s CAVB Zone V World Championship qualifiers set for Kigali, Rwanda has been released. The qualifiers are slated to take place between July 22 and 27 will see 14 Kenyan participants leave the country for Rwanda on Tuesday 18 July.

A team of 20 players have been training at the Nyayo Stadium for close to a week before Kenya Defence Force’s Alisha Aliwa, Nairobi Water duo of Fredrick Muiruri and Martin Kiptoo, Mombasa Prison’s Meshack Wambua, Co operative Bank’s Cleophas Kirwa and Cornelius Lagat from the General Service Unit were cut from the final list of players.

Other teams that will be involved in the Championships include hosts Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, Sudan, Tanzania and Egypt.Jairus Bett has been selected to captain the mens’ team with GSU technical director Moses Epoloto and Kenya Prisons men’s assistant coach Paul Muthinja tasked with marshalling the team. 

Squad: Jairus Bett(captain), Brian Meli, Kevin Maiyo, Rodgers Kipkirui, Cornelius Rotich, Linus Sang, Hudson Wanyama, Cornelius Kirwa, Bonifentry Wekesa, Nicholas Matui, Michael Chemos ,Sila Kipruto, Sam Juma, Noah Bett.
