6-year bans for Blatter and Platini

The FIFA Appeal Committee, chaired by Larry Mussenden (Bermuda), has partially confirmed the decisions taken by the adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee on 17 and 18 December 2015 regarding Joseph S. Blatter and Michel Platini respectively, whose bans have been reduced from eight to six years.

FIFA executive rallies Member Associations to approve reforms in full

The FIFA Executive Committee on Wednesday unanimously urged FIFA’s Member Associations to approve the full slate of proposed reforms enshrined in the new draft FIFA Statutes at the Extraordinary Congress on Friday. Furthermore, the committee approved new Governance Regulations which were drawn up by the 2016 FIFA Reform Committee to strengthen the fundamental principles of the proposed new statutes. The coming into force of the FIFA Governance Regulations is subject to the approval of the proposed statutory amendments at the Extraordinary FIFA Congress on Friday.
